Hi Khuram -

Thanks for sharing these tips. I would caution the reader to be careful using ALT image tags. It's OK to use these as long as they are actually describing what the image is about. Stuffing keywords into the alt image tag of an unrelated image (i.e. border element) will be perceived as keyword spamming if a human audits the code on your site. Also I do have a bit of an issue with the statement that there should be internal links to every page on the site. I agree that this applies to "money" pages but you don't really want to waste link juice on overhead pages like TOS, contact, privacy policy, etc. I find the use of the "no follow" link attribute helps to focus page rank to important pages.

Finally, you mention linking and give good advice on what types of sites to link to. However you might have mentioned that getting external links from related authority sites has far more impact than any on page tweaking.

Other than the above quibbles, great article!

Cheers,

Jim

Nice advice. I try to follow all of these, but the reminder about title tags, and especially about using DIFFERENT title tags on different pages was a good reminder.

Thanks.

You are quite right Marcela. And i believe too that it should be human readable, and specially words should not be repeated.

After your comment, i gone through the screen shot again and find your point right. Key Word Stuffing and showing all products in description are two different things.

Thanks for showing me my mistake. Its useful for me for learning. And I highly appreciate for it.

I see; thank you for your answer!

Personally I always try to make sentences flow a little. Even if you are looking to repeat the keyword and strengthen your message, maybe the use of a full stop now and then would make it easier for humans to read. Again, I have a translation background and I try to attend to every detail when writing.

However, I find very interesting your approach: to show prospects what the website offers without any room for doubt. Different websites have different objectives, so if this approach works for your client, I find it daring but appropriate.

I am always trying to absorb new ways of doing things that challenge my own. Thank you for sharing.

You are right Marcela, that on the first instance, it looks like Keyword Stuffing. But these are the basic products Site has. And it is important for client to show prospects on the first instance that what are they offering.

I don't believe on fancy descriptions. I believe we should try to show visitor exactly what we are offering. And this site is getting good number of hits from prospects. Now this client has 3-4 types of software, we need to show prospects, so it looks like Keyword stuffing on first instance.

Hello Khuram,

This is a nice summary of good practices for Google positioning. However, I have a little comment.

I am not sure if the image you used for illustration of TITLE and DESCRIPTION tags represents the usage you would recommend of this tags. Personally, as a customer, I do not think I would click on that link (maybe that is just me; I have to say I am a savvy user ;) ). On first sight, it looks like keyword stuffing! Does not sound very natural.

However, I would like to have your insight on this. Have you worked succesfully with this practice? Is it just an example, not vouched by you? What do you recommend on the issue?

Thank you!
