No Information No Sales. Yes, if you want to sell, educate your customer. And definitely, to educate customer be descriptive. And of-course you will remember my first suggestion of using good keywords and phrases. So you hunt two dears with one arrow. You get more sales and better rank in search engines. Search Engines love contents.

4. Don’t forget Objectives of your site

Your Sentences and words selection should help you to meet your site objectives. If you are selling online or want an action from visitor, use action words and phrases like “Do Now” or “Act Now”. Arrange your contents in a way that compel visitors to take action. Tell user why should he buy or fill a form. Show the value. Visitors should know exactly, from where they can get desired information.

5. Target Audience

This is about accessibility of your site. If your audience is highly educated people, you can use complex sentence formation. Small and easier sentences are always better, as more and more people able to understand easily what you want to tell.

6. Be Natural, Be correct

Write as humans write. Don’t stuff your page with Keywords only. Let the reader feel that site contents are for them not for someone coming from space. Write correct sentences and check spellings twice. Remember we are writing these contents for visitors. Just getting traffic is one part of success. Getting returning visitors and meeting the objectives of site is the actual success.

7. Give Attention to Different Parts of Site

Web Standards? Why should i Consider them in my Website?

Taking web standards into account when designing a website may not be a primary concern for many site owners, but it is one of more important measurements you need to take to make your website ready for success. Let’s see how complying with Web standards can help a business website. Taking web standards into account when designing a website may not be a primary concern for many site owners, but it is one of more important measurements you need to take to make your website ready for success. Let’s see how complying with Web standards can help a business website.

What are the Standards?
On the Web, the main standards are the languages used when creating websites. The most wide-spread ones are HTML, XHTML and CSS. HTML or XHTML are used to create the backbone of websites – the structure. (The difference between HTML and XHTML is that XHTML was formed from XML and is forward compatible.) CSS, in turn, is used to style, format and position the structure and content.

What is Web Standards Compliance?
Put simply, web standards compliance is using web languages correctly. This involves using HTML tags properly and the way they were and are intended to be used. For instance, one of the most common felonies against the web standards is using table tags for layout, while the correct usage is to use them only for tabular data (information to be put in tables).

Benefits of Standards Compliance:
Creating quality, standards compliant code has a number of benefits:

Site Forward Compatibility
Web standards, such as XHTML and CSS, are designed to work forever. They will also be supported for an almost unlimited period of time. Designing a site according to web standards will ensure the website backbone will not need to be redone any time soon, which reduces the amount of work on the site and the expenses of the site owner.

Increased Download Speed
When using XHTML for content and structure and CSS for styling and formatting, page size is reduced when compared to a page, designed with tables for layout. For instance, a site with a relatively small number of images is 50% smaller than a table-based website. Because users enjoy fast-loading websites, they will be more likely to become a client of a web standards compliant website.

Browser Compatibility
A web standards compliant site is displayed correctly (and looks the same) in all standards compliant browsers. Adjusting the site to suit a less helpful browser (Internet Explorer, for instance) is much easier with CSS than with tables. This saves enormous amounts of time for a web designer.

Easier Site Maintenance
When separating content and styling with XHTML and CSS, it is much easier to edit any of those, because they are located in different files. Should one need to adjust the look of the main page heading, he/she will just need to change a line or two in a style sheet to change the appearance of all headings on the website. Editing content is easier as well, because no styling and formatting is in the way and it is easy to spot the content in clean and semantically correct code markup.

Broader Target Audience
Furthermore, web standards are used not only on computers, but also by PDAs (hand held devices, palm computers), phones and other devices. A site, adhering to web standards, will be displayed correctly either without editing or will require very little work to be displayed correctly on a platform other than a computer. Such easy availability will make the company site easily accessible for a wider range of potential customers, increasing the chances of business success as well.

So you want a Website? :: Website Goals

That’s really great. But having a website or having a successful website are two different things.

Website

As you are going to spend your valuable time & resources to build a website, so definitely you should have some clear objectives, you are going to achieve. After all you are a Business Man, and Business people do not put their efforts for nothing. If I am right, then definitely we want to achieve some success with our website. That’s really great. But having a website or having a successful website are two different things.

Do you know that there are many companies in the world which donot have any showrooms, but still make millions Dollars sales by website only…?

But how can we know that we have a successful website? This can be only done by setting up Website Goals & Objectives against which we can measure the success of our website.

As with the website’s intended purpose, we have to get focused and have a clear and complete understanding of what we want this site to achieve.

With any general goal-setting we undertake, there must be some variables to set our goals on. Therefore, our goals must be:

SPECIFIC: Describes what you want to accomplish with as much detail as possible.
REALISTIC: Goals you know you are actually capable of obtaining.
CHALLENGING: Takes energy and discipline to accomplish rewarding goals.
PRIORITIZED: Sets goals by time and importance into clearly specified target completion dates.
MEASURABLE: Describes your goals in terms that can clearly be evaluated.

Writing down your goals creates the road map to your success. Although just the act of writing them down can set the process in motion, it is also extremely important to review your goals frequently. Remember, the more focused you are on your goals; the more likely you are to accomplish them.

With respect to the development of your site, the principal question is:

What do you want this site to accomplish? (For you and your visitors)
Every website will have different objectives while every website owner will have set different goals for it. Any site will have varied reasons for existence. These could be:

• Product brand awareness
• To market detailed product information
• To target international communities
• Provide the latest new product or service information to customers
Market yourself
• To make money from an online business
• What are my response targets for 6 months and 12 months?
• What are my Web sales targets (ie as a percentage to total sales)?

SUMMARY:

• Be sure you know what you want your site to accomplish
• Write up the goals for your site
• Think of ways how you can measure the success of your site’s goals

Wisdom IT Solutions can help you to determine these goals and to achieve them.

Be-Aware of Email Frauds – Some more examples

Continued from my previous post , Be Aware of Email Frauds, here i would like to share another example of Email Frauds. In this type of mails, sender tries to lure you for some heavy amount transfer to your bank account.

Example 1:

Usually, such scam mail originates in Africa. Now comes from other countries as well. Often, victims of this scam receive an introduction letter via email. In such a letter, they are usually told a story about a wealthy person (for example a rich businessman or government official) who has died. The letter then asks the receiver to provide a bank account where the deceased’s money can be “safely” deposited with a promise to pay 20% to 30% of the deposit as compensation.

Scam Mail Example 1

Scam Mail Example 1

Example 2:

You are Congratulated to win a Lottery. At First You are asked to give your information, so that amount can be transferred to your Bank. On later stage, when sender feel you are giving all information and you are getting a bit excited, it asks about small amounts for insurance or transfer Fee.

Scam Example 2

Scam Example 2

Both of above examples look preety childish, but for surprise there are thousand of people who get trapped and pay amounts through Western digital or other annonymous transfer methods. So be-aware of these frauds and don’t get excited, if you are told that you are a multi billionare now as you have won a big lottery.

Be Aware of Email Frauds

Be aware of a number of fraud or spam emails that have been circulating on the Internet recently. This type of email has already affected the some of world’s leading websites including Yahoo, EBay, Amazon, etc.

The people who send these emails hope that unsuspecting recipients will reply to the email or click on a link contained in the email, and submit sensitive personal information in fake feedback forms.

The key to reducing the effect of this type of email is awareness, education and vigilance. Be cautious when responding to any email request for sensitive personal information.

I would like to share my own Experience. I received a mail from Paypal asking me to immediately login to my account or else my account will be suspended.

PayPal Scam

PayPal Scam

That was really surprising for me, as in last few months I am using PayPal, so I looked into mail more deeply and find it a fraud mail. I would like to share my findings with you, which you should also consider, if you receive any mails which are asking you for immediate action to enter your sensitive Bank Details or any other Financial Information.

1. From Email Address:

From Email Address is from abuse-paypal.com. You see there is a hyphen ( – ) between “abuse” and “Paypal.com”. Whereas, if it is Sub-Domain there should be Dot (.) between these two words. So Writer has tried to play tactfully as very few people will observe it.

Dot Vs Hyphen

Dot Vs Hyphen

However, it should be noted that, its very easy to forge “FROM” Email Address. Most fraud email senders may send emails with forged email addresses-some of them appear to be real email address. The “From” field of an email can easily be altered – it is not a reliable indicator of the true origin of the email.

2. Hidden Hyperlink:

When I took mouse on the link, which this mail asked me to click on and login, it showed, that text shown is different than Hyperlink hidden under this text. Almost All good Email Clinets show actual hyperlink in status bar.

Hidden Hyperlink

Hidden Hyperlink

So What happen actually is? when you click this link, it takes you to a site that is 100% looks like Paypal Login Page. And when Information is entered, it store at some Remote Server. And then this information is used to access your PayPal Account and make transactions. And What you get in the end………………….? A breath-stopping Credit Card Bill.

Technically it is called Phishing, Just like Fishing.

Phishing Definition:

Web Forgery (also known as “Phishing”) is a form of identity theft that occurs when a malicious Web site impersonates a legitimate one in order to trick you into giving up sensitive information such as passwords, account details, or credit card numbers. Phishing attacks usually come from email messages that attempt to lure the recipient into updating their personal information on fake, but very real looking, Web sites. More information on phishing can be found at the Anti-Phishing Working Group, and there are a number of examples and resources available at the Wikipedia Phishing page.

There is Another way, these Fraud Websites can steal your information, that is Malware.

What is Malware?

Malware is software designed to harm your computer or steal your personal information without your knowledge. Attack Sites are Web sites that try to infect your computer with malware when you visit. These attacks can be very difficult to detect; even a site that looks safe may be secretly trying to attack you. Attackers will often hack a site to turn it into an Attack Site, and sometimes the Web site’s owner won’t even know that this has happened. You can learn more about Attack Sites and malware from stopbadware.org, a partnership among academic institutions, technology industry leaders, and volunteers committed to protecting Internet users from threats to their privacy and security caused by bad software.
